USAC PROVIDES NOTICE THAT CARRIERS REMAINING ON LEGACY SUPPORT MUST MAKE A SELECTION REGARDING THEIR CAF BLS METHODOLOGY BUILD-OUT REQUIREMENTS
On August 26, 2019, USAC provided notice via email to all carriers that are remaining on Legacy CAF BLS support that they will need to make a CAF BLS Methodology Build-out Selection for determining their 25/3 deployment location obligations that must be fulfilled over a five-year period (2019-2024).
LEGACY CAF BLS SUPPORT SELECTION
Deadline to Make Legacy CAF BLS Methodology Build-out Selection
Carriers must send an email to USAC at email@example.com by Friday, August 30, 2019 informing USAC of their CAF BLS Methodology Build-out selection. Carriers can select either a Weighted Average Cost method or an ACAM Cost method for their build-out requirements. In some cases, carriers may not have an option to select the ACAM Cost method because their service area does not have any unserved census blocks. Where this occurs, a “N/A” will be under this column for the carriers and a carrier will only be able to select the Weighted Average Cost method.
Carrier emails to USAC should include in the subject line: CAF BLS Build-out Methodology Selection. In the body of the email, the carrier should specify its name, its service area code (SAC), and which build-out method the carrier is selecting: either Weighted Average Cost
Method Build-out or ACAM Cost Method Build-out.
